looks like a sleepless night
has come again.
trying to find a crutch
someone i could lean on.
waiting for the sleep of the dead
to take away the pain.
and all the memories
of what brought me here.
the silence of this night
as my heart beats out these lines.
“always the last to know
andthe first to say i don’t care”.
i would give anything
for this circle to end.
the movie keeps playing on and on,
over and over again.
talking is cheap as words paint a picture
hiding faces in colors that run off the edges.
trying to find the blend of a perfect reflection
forgetting perfection’s… such a dangerous game.
the early morning light
comes as a welcome friend.
only to run away
as you tell yourself, “never again”.
one bird on a wire
one sailor lost at sea.
there are things in this life
that are never ment to be.
we all chose a side
walking the line of wounded pride.
blaming the other
as we forgive ourselves.
we know just what to say
to leave the deepest scars.
between love and hate
no one wins in the end.
what is it that you see when i walk by
what do you hear inside the songs that expose me
what is it that you need when the tears confuse you
can’t you see… we are drifting apart.
